Significant Losses
Mining
Major property damage and business interruption losses involving iron ore, copper, uranium, nickel, coal and gold – open pit, underground, long wall and block caving along with downstream refining and logistics – in Australia, Africa, PNG and West Papua.
Energy / Engineering
Major (over $300M) fire and resulting business interruption losses in onshore gas processing plants. Other losses include well blow out in Indonesia, oil and gas pipelines – plus power generation throughout Australia and Asia (Inc power plant in Thailand ~$195M). Offshore experience includes damage to well infrastructure and pipelines.
Construction Risks
Major losses property, DSU/ALOP claims involving mining, manufacturing, infrastructure in Australia, Asia and Africa. Recent claims involve a tunnelling project, the (British Gas) QGC and Santos GLNG, Liquid Natural Gas Projects in Australia, and the (Chevron) Gorgon Island Project in Western Australia, the KL118 project in Malaysia and a power station project in Vietnam.
Transport / Infrastructure
Involved for most of the major above rail freight operators, infrastructure owners and port operators throughout Australia. Participated in most major derailments throughout Australia over 20-year period.
